    Description

Description. "The King of Mushrooms". Undoubtedly the most delicious and aromatic in the whole world. The porcini mushroom has a large fleshy cap and a thick white leg. Its flesh does not darken at the break and remains white after drying. Grows from May to October in all types of forests.
Breeding tips. Coniferous or deciduous trees should grow on the site, preferably sufficiently young (8-10 years old), but this is not strictly necessary. As compost, use ready-made soil for indoor plants with a high peat content.
Growing and care. Preparation of the sowing site: Near the trunk of the selected tree, remove the topsoil with a shovel (10-20 cm). This is done in such a way that the tree is in the center of a bare area, with a shape close to a circle, with a diameter of 1-1.5 m. The compost is laid in an even layer of 1-2 cm. Pieces of mycelium are laid out on the compost every 25-30 cm in a checkerboard pattern so that one package is enough for 1 tree. Then the infected area is covered with a layer of soil removed earlier and watered with water (2-3 buckets per tree). Water should be poured carefully, preferably onto the trunk of the tree, so that it rolls down onto the soil and does not wash it out. A year after sowing, under favorable circumstances, the first mushrooms appear under the tree. Their volume can be from 2 to 5 kg. Planting care in the season of expected fruiting (summer) consists in periodically moistening the soil, if the season is not rainy. The artificially sown mycelium bears fruit for 3-4 years. Then the mycelium can be re-seeding. On the engraftment of mycelium, additional application of some nutrients when sowing is good. Recommended top dressing: sugar - 50 g per 10 liters of water. The mushroom plantation should be broken up no later than mid-September. For wintering, especially in the first season, the surface of the sown area within a radius of 2 meters from the tree is covered with a layer of insulating materials - leaf fall, branches, moss, spruce branches. In the spring, this layer is removed.
