The porcini mushroom has a large meaty hat and a thick white leg. The pine white mushroom differs from other porcini mushrooms in a hemispherical and slightly flattened shape, chocolate brown, less often a dark cherry-colored hat and a thicker tuberous leg.
At the edge of the hat has a slightly pinkish tint. The pulp of the mushroom is dense, white, does not darken at the break and after drying it remains white. It is considered the most delicious of all types of porcini mushrooms.
It grows from the second half of June to the first half of October, mainly in coniferous forests.
Coniferous trees (pine, worse spruce) should grow on the site, preferably young enough (8-10 years), but this is not strictly necessary.
Ready-made soil for indoor plants with a high peat content is used as compost.
Preparing a place for sowing: Near the trunk of a selected tree, remove the topsoil (10-20 cm) with a shovel. They do this in such a way that the tree is in the center of the exposed area, with a shape close to a circle, with a diameter of 1-1.5 m. Compost is laid in even layer 1-2 cm.
Pieces of mycelium are laid out on compost through 25-30 cm in a checkerboard pattern so that one package is enough for 1 tree.
Then the infected area is covered with a previously removed soil layer and watered with water (2-3 buckets per tree). Water should be poured carefully, preferably on a tree trunk, so that it rolls down it onto the soil and does not erode it.
A year after sowing, under a favorable set of circumstances, the first mushrooms appear under the tree. Their volume can range from 2 to 5 kg.
Planting care during the expected fruiting season (in summer) consists in periodically moistening the soil if the season is not rainy.
Artificially seeded mycelium bears fruit for 3-4 years.
Then you can re-sow the mycelium.
The healing of mycelium is well affected by the additional application of certain nutrients when sowing. Recommended feeding: sugar - 50 g per 10 liters of water. A mushroom plantation should be broken no later than mid-September.
